Hints for placing adverts: You just need to send me the text of your advert (about 150 words maximum).  If possible, attach a SINGLE PHOTOGRAPH (jpg or bmp) of your item for sale.  If you wish, the photograph can be a composite of multiple shots, but there is only space on the page for one photo per advert.  If you send me more than one photo, I will decide which one I think is most suitable, and will not change it, due to the work involved in adding it to the site. If you have more photographs available, mention this in the advert. State the condition, as it might not be obvious from the photo. For Sale:  Outfit No. 10 in 4 heavy wooden trays, 20 model instruction sheets in original Meccano wallets plus loose parts in antique tins (oxo, toffees etc.) over 1000 assorted items + Meccano tools. Set 9a (boxed). Set 6 (boxed) 2 off M20 Transformers (reversing) No. 11420 2 off Clockwork Motor (No. 1) 3 off E20R(s) Electric Motor (20 volt reversing) 1 off E20 Electric Motor (20 volt non-reversing) 1 off Magic Clockwork Motor (No. 1100) Good condition with very minimal wear & tear, especially considering it was acquired in the mid 1930's.  Nuts & bolts have slight surface corrosion easily removed by soaking in oil.  Motors & transformers are still in remains of original boxes which are very dilapidated. For Sale: Meccano's 70's Outfit No 10. There is a complete instruction manual and a motor. Missing on the top drawer a stud. I do not know if it is complete, and had been used. A 25-page Meccanno Prize Models booklet containing a selection of Models awarded prizes in 1914-15.  A 132 page book Labelled "Meccano instructions for a whole series of Models comprising of 13 progressive outfits". For Sale: Meccano Outfit No. 10 boxed set - key lock mechanism working - original key. External wear and scratches to the wooden box, internal wood appears good for its age and the two internal wooden trays. Some cog and spindle pieces have suffered corrosion however some pieces have not been used and are in good condition, none of the pieces have been repainted. Most of the nuts and bolts have remained unused in their original boxes and some tyres are still in cellophane wrapping. There are some original Meccano instructions for sets 0-7 but they do not appear to be related to the Meccano 10 outfit. The set has been in the family since its original purchase and is probably not complete and not in 'brand new' condition, but who would be for its age?! This lovely antique is a piece of history that is at risk of being hoarded and forgotten about. I am sure someone else would appreciate and enjoy this legendary item far more. For Sale: I have what I think is a fairly large collection of Meccano that I would like to sell as a single lot. The collection is located in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. In the past, we have built two items from the No.10 instructions booklet at the same time. Photos can be viewed here. I'm not sure what this collection is worth now, although my dad, who put this together, has turned down over $10,000 CAD in the past. For Sale: 1954-58 Outfit No 10 assembled from collected parts.  100% complete including original wallet of 12 leaflets. In new Frizinghall repro 4-drawer cabinet. In generally well-used but undamaged condition ie no rust, no kinks in flex plates. Suitable for building, but probably not smart enough for pure collectors. The set is housed in the original 5-drawer chest, the parts are 99.99% unused (only the box spanner and wire screwdriver have been).  All the zinc parts are tarnish free and the plastic trays have no cracks or splits. For Sale: A light red and green No.10 outfit in slightly used condition with many extra parts (like extra 49-holes angle girders, helical gears, eccentrics etc etc). Some parts have scratches, some are mint. A few brass parts have corrosion spots on them. A very beautiful set! Included are tin boxes 9.1, 9.2, 9.3, 9a.1, 9a.2 and 9a3. Then you know how the set was buil up Housed in a 1960’s No.10 Cabinet.  The cabinet is in good condition with all original knobs. It has some extra dividers in the drawers, that can easily be removed. Books included: No. 9, No.7/8 and the green wallet with 16 (out of 20) Super Models. I promise, as an extra, an original No.10 book if the final bid is over € 1,750. For Sale:  Meccano 10 Set from the post war era in Red and Green.  I believe it to be a genuine 10 Set with very, very few missing parts.  It is not a motley collection of parts from different periods with many missing items such as is often to be found for sale. All the parts are original Binns Road Meccano.  Now the bad news, there is no cabinet and there are no manuals.  It has been badly stored and whilst the brass parts gears etc. are fine the painted parts will really need to be repainted.  The set is contained in a large non-meccano wooden chest. It would be an interesting project for someone wishing to obtain a 10 set for a very good price and willing to put in some work to bring it up to scratch.  I am asking for offers around £650.   SOLD		July 2011

For Sale: Rare 1914 Meccano no. 0 set in the box, Very Good Condition. I recently purchased this 1914 Meccano no. 0 set at an estate auction along with other games and toys that had been saved for generations. After taking inventory against the instruction manuals content list, I find only three discrepancies. Missing are the following: 1 spring clip, 1 2.5 in. perforated strip and the Hank of Cord. The condition of the rest of the contents are very good except that the Perforated Sector Plate is slightly rusted on the top side only. The brass wheels (pulleys) are still attached to the box with the original metal clips. Condition of the box is as follows: The top of the the box is very good with strong graphics, missing some parts of the apron.  The Box dimensions are 11.5 x 7.5 in. For Sale: My #2 car was purchased at Sotheby's auction in London in 1985.  The lot was described in the sales catalogue as "almost mint". I believe the model was constructed one time,with the exception of trying the extra rear section. All the extra parts including the small red box for hardware are included. the box colour is bright with a patina of 80 years. The corners have been taped. the only disappointment is the numeral #2 that was in the small circle on the box top has been scratched out. For Sale:  This was left to me by an old friend.  It is a Meccano No 5 still in the original box. The box measures 17 inches long by 12.1/4 inches wide by 3.1/4 inches deep. Gold letters on the lid are a bit faded.  Gold letters in the lid good condition. Top section has a tray full of Meccano 6 sections. Under the tray there are sections also full of Meccano.  Not sure if they are original pieces to box, a mixture of blue and gold, red and yellow, greens, chrome, black, coloured. nut, bolts, cogs, wheels.  A good mixture. there is also a Meccano No.4 manual, 50 pages a bit tatty but all there. I have been told the engine which came with this set is a lionel engine.  It comes with the letter to the recipient of this Christmas gift. Master August Voultz Jr. dated Dec 22 1915. The first book is copyright 1913 by Meccano Ltd. It is 100 pages instructions for the whole series of Models 1-109.  The second book is a selection of the models which were awarded prizes in the meccano competition 1914-1915. On pg 24, under the price list, the 1X with electric motor sells for $3. Its motor and the 1X are featured on two pages. Also there are pictures of all the winning models and the name and where they come from. It has a personal note to all competitors in the 1914-15 competition signed by Frank Hornby. For Sale: Meccano Accessory Outfits 3A and 4A.  Found in my late brother-in-law’s loft and looks like they were purchased with Christmas funds in early 1964 for 25s/3d and 31s/6d respectively. They are complete (including the guarantee certificates pasted to the inside of the box cover). The box covers show some wear which would be expected for their age and the plastic tray in box 4A is damaged in one corner (as shown in the photograph) but otherwise, they are in good condition. The Accessory Outfit Box 4A also includes a motor and two light bulbs which don't come with the set but it looks as though my brother-in-law added them in place of the nuts and bolts box. All the various bits needed for conversion from Outfit 3 to Outfits 4 and 5 are in the nuts and bolts box in the Outfit 3A set. For Sale: Meccano Gears Outfit B, Mechanisms Outfit, Reversible 4.5v D.C. Motor.  Found in my late brother-in-law’s loft, they were purchased for or by him in the early 1960s for 18s/3d for the Gears Outfit and 26s/11d for the Motor – there’s no price on the box for the Mechanisms Outfit. They are complete (including the guarantee certificates pasted to the inside of the box covers) except that in The Mechanisms Outfit it looks like there should be 9 x 1.5” perforated strips but there’s only 8 in the box. There are also a few extra nuts, bolts and washers. I don’t know how rare this is but the instruction manual in the Mechanisms Outfit set has been bound with not one but two covers instead of pages 1 and 2 at the front and pages 19 and 20 at the back. For Sale: 1949 mid red and green No 7 outfit in near new condition, 100% complete with original manual. I bought this outfit recently from the grandson of its owner, who acquired it new in 1949. The contents were a bit grimy from long-term attic storage, but have cleaned up very well. Most parts appear unused, with a few showing signs of minimal use only. The small parts carton is present, although missing its lid, and both small tins are present, containing nuts and bolts. The lids have lost their labels.  I have secured the upper tray parts to their stringing card with paper clips. The lower box stringing card is missing. The carton is in good condition, the lid is frayed at the corners and the label is damaged. The lid contains a guarantee certificate, but this is not date stamped. The 1949 outfit 7/8 manual is in excellent condition with no tears or loose pages, although the staples are a bit rusty. Too good to build with, and will hopefully appeal to a collector who might wish to reinstate the stringing and restore the lid. For Sale: Full set (as far as I have checked) of Meccano purchased around 1979 in original plastic boxes with lids. I have cleaned up the parts and would say that they are in fair to good condition. For Sale: Vintage Meccano kit. 8 drawers filled with Meccano pieces. Many parts, including some instruction manuals for outfits 9, 10 and 11, 12, 13. The manuals have seen better days - testament to its ample usage! Some of the pieces are pre-war from somewhere from between 1930 - 45 (blue with gold criss-crossed lines) and other peices from either 1920's or 1950s (red and green). Most pieces are a bit worn and dusty which I expect would clean up well, however some also show signs of corrosion (which too may clean up well), while a few other bits are quite rusted. It appears to have one engine-type piece, some wheels and pully system. Otherwise it generally looks to be in reasonable condition and is quite likely to be someone else's treasure. For Sale:  Assorted Meccano items. A large collection of well-used Meccano pieces from the 1920’s to the early 1960’s. Over 1000 items not including nuts & screws.  Including two electric motors, one 12V the other 20V, two clockwork motors, one with reversing gear, and approximately 30 gears.  Some of the items have become rusty due to poor storage but still good enough for making models. For Sale:  Bound Meccano Mags. 1929 - 1981 in 46 volumes. The ones for 1929, 1930 & 1931 are Good to VG internally with covers. The outer bindings are, as per the pic, at best Good to Good+. Volumes 17 - 66 (43 in all) were all expertly bound by the same binder who is self employed at Lancaster University. Volumes 17- 20, 1932-1935 have no covers but the advert pages are there and are fine/mint cond. 1936 and 1937 are mint/fine with covers. 1938 & 1939 are the same as vol's 17-20. 1940 to 1972 are all mint/fine with covers. The last two volumes cover 1973 - 1976 (Vol's 58-61) and 1977 - 1981, (vol's 62-66).
